This is just a simple bottle I found at a local shop for $10. The blend is Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Jaen, and Alfrocheiro. This same blend is what's in the Grilos that I've always liked so much. The Casa Antiga has a straightforward black cherry profile. It doesn't ask for much. It's better than many of the Dao reds I've tried recently in this price range, but I would not rank it quite as highly as the Grilos, which generally costs more around here, anyway. Since I can't find the Grilos anywhere, this one will be pressed into more active duty at my house. I'm not sure how I would pair this wine with food (besides recipes that include cherries, of course), but I do enjoy drinking it on its own.
