I brought this to a party with a bunch of wine people last night so I only got to have one glass and didn't take any formal notes. I decanted it about 20 hrs before it was poured and it showed really well.

Dark purple in the glass - the nose had intense cassis and prune aromas with a warm earthy quality - full bodied with lots of dark fruit and juicy acidity. There was a lot of peppery heat that came across on the long finish which I didn't note in the last bottle of this that I drank recently but that may have been due to some garlicky food I had eaten earlier playing up the heat. In any case I liked this every bit as much as I did last time - score remains the same - delicious, rich and well structured VP. 93+ pts, Tasted 4/11

1994 was the beginning of the return to high quality Sandeman VP's. 1997 and the Vau too that year, both were quite good as well. I agree the 2000 is a step up from both of those vintages as you've illustrated with your note and rating. The 2003 is also good, but the 2007 finally reaches the pinnacle of Sandeman's grace and that VP is off the charts, imo.
