My first tasting notes here, hopefully I'm doing this right.
This bottle was purchased about three months ago and has been slowly consumed since opening. The pour is a ruddy, dense brown with an amber meniscus. The immediate aroma is a mild, soft caramel, but a quick swirl brings out an unbelievable concentration of aromatics, with lavender, marzipan, fresh lime juice, butterscotch, and a blast of kirsch. Stunning complexity and strength; I could smell this for hours and never need a sip.
Fairly light in body with mild tannis, sweet midbody and a sharp finishing acidity. Lemon curd and meringue are evident, with a finish of kirsch and pineapple. A touch of grain alcohol is present. This is my first terrantez, and what an introduction it is—I fear for my wallet. 94 pts.
