Served at this tasting to give a counter to all those 1991s, and to recognize the new year coming. This was a deep ruby purple in color, second darkest of the tasting after the 1991 Taylor Q.d.Vargellas. There was some brown tinting and bricking apparent on day two (just a couple glasses left). There was a fair amount of fruit in the aroma, and it was a bit more complex than the 1991 Taylor in the mouth. On its own, I think this was the best wine of the tasting, although it was close to the 1991 Taylor and the 1991 Warres. Late on day 2 there was a lot of warmth, and some cherry and strawberry flavors. The finish was long, with warmth. After 31 hours in the decanter, this was past its peak. 93 points.

Eric,

Why did it remain in decanter the whole time and not get poured back into the bottle at some point(especially after you saw what was happening on day 2), instead? Not sure if you were just experimenting or what? [cheers.gif]

I think I was a bit overwhelmed after the tasting :drunk:
