1985 Graham Vintage Port

Decanted about 9 hours prior to the first tasting. Nice jam aroma on opening; upon decanting there was almost no sediment but when rinsing the bottle, there was quite a bit of clumpy sediment.
+9: The color is garnet/dark cherry with a clear meniscus and a burnt red orange rim. Shows nice legs, too. Whiffs of strawberry jam. The taste is strawberry jam, a gourmet red licorice (in a good way) taste plus an occasional a hint of caramel. A very long, warm finish with moderate tannins that tended toward red fruit jam with a mouth-feel like a grapefruit. Has that element of perfect sweetness I find in Grahams VPs without being overdone.
+28: Still pretty much the same, no longer getting the caramel. Finish a little longer.
+54: Still very good but seems to have been better the previous two days.
This was my 100th port tasted, a small personal milestone. I'm glad I had an excellent bottle for it; it was really my first bottle of a properly aged VP and gives me a good bench mark for the future.
