1977 Niepoort Vintage Port

Decant: Not Known - Dark copper colour; 25% opaque. Sweet and mature on the nose, full of red licorice and nutmeg. Sweet entry with beautiful balance. Slightly harsh in the mid-palate, but this fades to allow an extrememly elegant and balanced wine to show through. Spicy and sharp (in an attractive way) on the late palate and aftertaste. Sweet jelly-bean finish that fades quite quickly. Attractive and probably at its peak. 88 points
