I'd let the lot go for a grand. Shipping is negotiable.

Thanks for your patience with me.

Lars

For what it's worth, I have not been insulted - just dealing with the additional financial obligations of handing my late mother's estate, including court probate fees and notarizations. It's a very attractive parcel of wine.

Lars,

I think you are offering some very fine wines at a fair price. My problem are:
(i) I live on the other side of the Atlantic; and
(ii) I have a lot of other financial obligations at the moment that are competing for my port funds.

You are offering a terrific parcel for someone who is looking to get a good instant cellar combining current drinking with fine future drinking.

Perhaps people are still recovering from financing Christmas?

Sorry if I offend, but here is my take. I admit that I am a bargain hunter, so in general I don't find those prices attractive. I think taking an average price on wine-searcher is silly. There are a lot of way overpriced bottles out there to skew the average. In general, I wouldn't want to pay more than the low price on wine-searcher. Sometimes one of those listings might be suspect, and other times it might not be a bottle in good shape, but most of the time it is a valid listing. Lars, you might be offering a better provenance than something on wine-searcher, but at the moment all is unknown.

1995 Fonseca Guimarens for $50? I see 10+ listings on wine-searcher for that amount or less, several at merchants I've purchased from before, and the lowest coming in at $34.99. Personally I paid $34.50 for this in the past several years.

Lars,

If you could have just listed that 12 hours earlier: [dash1.gif]

Carl and I may have delayed our trip back from the seattle area for a few more hours and took then off your hands, or tried with a little negotiating.

At $1000 this is a steal!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [1974_eating_popcorn.gif]

Lars, bargain hunters aside, PROVENANCE counts for a lot, for some of us who care and don't want to take chances every time we open a bottle that it might deliver only 90% of what it should. That to me, at least, is worth paying a little bit more for and I know your collection and also know how carefully you've handled all of your wines. Others may not, so that is why I am chiming in.
