Paul Symington shared this with us on the Harvest Trip in 2011 and I really liked it. Anyways, after keeping an eye out for some time I finally found them at a nearby store. Of course I bought a bunch of these as what's not to love about a very solid $18 Douro wine.
I've had a number of these recently and they've been consistently good. 100% Touriga Nacional this Douro has plenty of fresh black cherries, tar, moderate tannins are well balanced which complement the fruit. The minerality sets it apart from some other pure Touriga Nacional wines I've had. Yet what I love most about this Douro red is how it allows that classic Douro style to shine. A hard grape to tame as a single varietal, yet the Symington's have done a very good job here.
