The latest and greatest Barca Velha just had its release party in Portugal and will soon be available to the public. Vintage 2004. Can't wait to try it!

It says the wine is aged 16 months in French 225 liter oak barrels, 75% new, 25% used. They really bottle age this stuff six years prior to release?

They could have bottle aged it all that time. Or some or all of it might have been transferred from barrel to stainless while they were picking and blending.
