I just had this again last week at the source and it was absolutely brilliant, and I am not sure that side-by-side with the Dow ... that the Gould Campbell would not be every bit as great!

I had this about a week ago as well and loved it also. I assume the bottles I bought (through the Wine Library for about $38) must have come from Lodge as well, as the labels and capsules were brand spanking new. This was my note:

This bottle was in fantastic shape, with new labels and capsules; this must have just been recently released by the winery. The cork fell into the bottle, however, when attempting to extract it with an "ah-so", thus this had to be strained through cheese cloth. Decanted for one hour. Quite fragrant. Still very dark in color, with a just a lighter ruby rim betraying its maturity. Still holding copious amounts of fruits: strawberry, spiced plums, raisins and a hint of graham cracker. Lively on the palate, showing some levels of maturity with moderate depth and length. Quite drinkable, yet still holding more in reserve. Not a powerhouse, but a delicious, middleweight port.

Thanks for reminding me, that I have 6 of these purchased from Wine Library as well, that should be shipping out about now. I need to check in on those.

Mine shipped on Monday and are due to arrive next Monday. But these 6-packs sure are tempting!
