NV Vinhos Oscar Quevedo Porto 20-year Tawny - Portugal, Douro, Porto (11/12/2012)
-- popped and poured --
-- tasted non-blind over a couple days; TN is from Day 1, on which this was tasted non-blind over a few hours --
NOSE: charred chicken or pork; turkey; brown sugar; wood stain; expressive.
BODY: ruby core, lightening to tawny at the edges; medium-light depth of color; medium-full to full bodied.
TASTE: prunes, golden raisins, and dates; dried/sugared pineapple; oak; 19.5% alc. really stands out; quite flavorful; slight Krazy Glue note; hint of mint; low to moderate acidity; a touch bitter; better than the tasting room taste we had back in May; paired very well with Blacksticks Blue cheese. Very good; would have been excellent with better alcohol integration.
B: 50, 5, 12, 15, 7 = (89 pts.)
