Bottled 2012. Decanted 2 hrs. Consumed half at one day and second half 3 days later. Much better after the decanting and settling in the bottle. Tasting notes based on second day. Transparent cognac colour with actually a touch of red, which is amazing after 30 years. Aroma in a sweet style raspberry/strawberry/apricot combined with wood. Full body. Taste overall quite sweet, a bit like hard candy. Well balanced (which was not so evident first day), powerful, smooth/easy drinking, noticeable tannins towards the end. Long aftertaste. An old tawny for those who like the sweet style tawnies. 88 points

How well was the spirit integrated both aromatically and on the palate?

The spirit was not a negative factor.
As you know I am not very keen on the tawnies/colheita where I am hit by the spirit aroma when opening the bottle.
Not a problem for this bottle.
