For The Love Of Port

Two bottles at the tasting, both cloudy, but absolutely in shape to drink. One was more cloudy than the other.
Decanted abt 1.5 hrs (should have been more as it developed in the glass). Medium dark brown colour. Aroma a bit influenced by the oxidation so short after opening. Well balanced, smooth, some nice tannins, burnt sugar, caramel, raisins. Very long aftertaste. The empty glass had a nice aroma long after having consumed the port. Difficult to rate due to oxidation. NR.

Were these bottles shipped recently? Sometimes old Colheita's will get very cloudy when the very fine sediment gets stirred up. From what I've been told by more than one producer, it can take up to 6 (sometimes more) months for it to completely settle and totally clear up again.

My impression was that they were shipped from Portugal for this tasting, so prabably a few weeks earlier.
