Decant: 6 hours
Color: Medium light
Nose: All alcohol and licorice, crazy strong aromas of both.
Palate: There's some serious heat on this wine, but good spice, red hots/licorice candy and cherry come with it. Tannins are mostly smooth and resolved but present. Due to this wine being a bit disjointed and out of balance, but tasty to me on this occasion: 87 pts.

Disclaimer: if you're particularly sensitive to heat, this is a poor wine for you.

Ill also add a report from tomorrow morning as there's a bit left, but this first impression doesn't make it seem like a wine to wait on at all. Drink now.

Also: slight seepage around cork, soft but came out int almost all one piece.

In day two, somewhat monochromatic strawberry cream flavors, but alcohol was nicely balanced. Less interesting than day 1, but much easier. Derek T was spot on in his note!
