1977 Gould Campbell Vintage Port

This spent 6 hours in a decanter before being decanted back into the bottle for transportation and was consumed around 10 hrs after opening.
It evolved in the glass as we drank it, indicating that a few more hours in the decanter would have done it no harm.
Sweet spice cedar with a lovely mouth-feel. Perhaps the slightest bit of heat and the spice stayed through to a long finish. Very nice drinking 93 points

One of the top VP's from this vintage for sure. Just don't tell anyone so prices stay low on it

I'd definitely like a few more of these. Prices aren't so low for me though, but there does seem to be a few around.

These are priced low compared to the 100 point scoring Fonseca, but I think the word is out, as these go for a considerable premium relative to GC in other years.

The 1980-1983-1985-1994-1997-2000 and the vintages beyond are all pretty stellar. I believe it was a mistake to NOT produce the 2011 Vintage Port of Gould Campbell, but maybe that is more due to disappointment than anything else. I can only imagine how great it could have been!?!?!
The 1977 GC has been a rock star for ages. It was amazing as a relative youngster at about 12 or 13 years old when I first tried it.

I understand their reasoning for not making a 2011, but that doesn't mean I like it.
