Decant: 1½ hours - Mature red appearance, rose rim; 35% opaque. Very strange nose, full of perfumed soap - really not right nor attractive. The strange flavours carry through to the unattractive palate, which is very acidic and with a hint of tannins. Hot aftertaste and a long birch sap finish. Very dried out, not what it should be, although the finish does morph into dark chocolate after a minute or two; this is quite nice and lasts well. Not rated - really not right. NR
