1970 Taylor Vintage Port

Decant: 5 hours - Mature in appearance, but distinctly red in tone; 40% opaque. Unpleasant on the nose, smelling of plasticizer and antiseptic. The plasticizer flavours also come through on the palate - really not pleasant. There is a dry fruit finish but this is a bottle that is really not right.
2 hours later the plasticizer nose had vanashed; the palate more fruit dominated with strong and assertive acidity, a concentrated finish. Not a typical bottle of Taylor 1970, but passable. 87 points
