A reasonably priced winner from Vallado and consulting oenologist CVZ. Many of the Douro reds from 2003/2004 vintages are delicious as yields were low and the weather cooperated. Dark garnet in color with a mocha, prune and cinnamon aroma and just a touch of cedar. On the palate the bright blackberry and raspberry flavors are bolstered by a spice laden mid-palate that adds intrigue. The tannins are not shy but they don't get in the way of a good time. Good length and dimension to the finish. 92 points (12-27-06)
