This was drunk with dinner and over the course of 2 1/2 hours, it was not decanted, but popped and poured.

A pleasant nose of dark cherries, and anise. The palate was thin and uninspiring. There was some dark fruit present but with a bitter greeness that detracted from the fruit. Not sure if this was crushed with the stems, but it sure seems like it. There was no noticable tannins, and the wine seemed way too soft for a Douro wine. The finish was short and clipped. I must say, this is a poor little brother to the Chryseia. The bottle says this is made to drink now, but I think the Symington's went a tad to far in trying to make this an immediately approachable wine. I've had other Douro reds 1/2 the price that did a better job at making a "Drink now" wine. 76 points.
