Color: Light brown, low to medium depth, medium intensity.
Nose: Complex and elegant of violets, cherry, marsipan, valnut, spices, curry, raisins, prunes and anis.
Palate: Medium bodied, very good balance and still good acidity, follows the smell, long finish. Elegant.
Foodmatch: Alone or with nuts. Try fois gras.
Cellaring: Drink now. Maybe this will hold 10 more years but on top now.

Bjorn,

I'm reading your notes with interest. I also glanced at your site. Interesting. Whats your story??
What got you interested in Port and how did it develop to starting your own site?

Alan

Hello Alan.
My story, ok.
Started as a pubhost in 89. Then I educated myself as a chef, finished in 93. Marine chef cook 94-96, manager for the best fish store in Norway 96-99. Then I had developed a big interest for wine and quit my job. I Started to work for the state wine monopoly in Norway, now my speciality is wine and food combinations. I have 4 years norwegian and international education in wines and spirits. The international degree is "advanced certificate in wines and spirits" from The Wine and Spirit Education Trust in London, England. Next year I will study Bordeaux wines for one year, and after that I will take the Diploma from WSET.

Well thats the short story.
I work for the state wine monopoly in Oslo, Norway as a consultant regarding anything regarding wines, spirits, wine with food etc...

If I had the time I would post a lot more TNs but its time consuming, I also have a family with kids, he he
I taste probably around 3000 products each year.

Nice to meet you.

Bjorn,

Thanks for that. So you've quite a background in wine and Port. As time goes on it will be interesting to hear you put a Norwiegan slant on the Port World. Hope you become a regular Poster, the more the merrier! There's quite a bank of knowledge on this Forum and I'm sure you'll add to it.

Alan

I will try my best to post my TNs and views. It will be from a Norwegian and my own angle. I always try to give my subjective opinion, I try not to be to much influenced by others or lables when i taste. All of us are influenced one way or the other but I do not have any thight personal bonds to any producer, as this could cost me my job in the wine monopoly.
Thank god I am allowed to publish my personal opinion.
I joined in 2005 but have been to busy to be active.
I will be active as often as possible.

I learn a lot from this forum and hope to be as professional in mine.

I made my forum quite egoisticly to keep myself busy and learing, I leran for every posting, and for every post I read.

Join my site anytime. Maybe it will never be a hit, but I will still enjoy my own TNs :D :D
