Just pulled the cork on this one. Color is very dark purple. The nose has some black plums and blackberry. The palate is a little sharp right now but some soft blackberries, a nice amount of acidity that keeps it from being to heavy on the palate. Still some tannins, but just enough to let you know the're there and are nicely balanced against the acidity. The finish isn't super long, but no short either. So far, this is a pleasant LBV.

A couple hours on and the nose has a strong black licorice that is now dominating the black plums and blackberries. The palate is very silky and no longer sharp. There is some red cherries laced with a little smokeness and gravel, and a very slight touch of mint which is very unusual but nice. This is a very easy drinker and one that is hard to stop. There are no major faults and this is a very good example of a filtered LBV. 87-88 points.

I also detected mint (or menthol) both times I had this LBV this year Andy. Good TN though... right on the money. Very easy-drinker. IIRC, both bottles disappeared rapidly for me.

I've also been a fan of Graham's LBV's for a solid go to wine. They seem to have more complexity than most other filtered LBV's. Ohh, and I forgot to post this in the VT this month..I'll do that right now.

never mind...forgot the VT was for an Unfiltered LBV. I've got a 1995 Warres LBV on death row. That will work

That'll do.good to see three different TNs on it (Kris and I each have one at the moment.) It is neat to see comparisons between a couple of people on the exact same wine in the same place.
