Tasted blind. Medium ruby red with a slight brown tint. Like many tasted before it (Martinez, Taylor, Sandeman …), this also has some spirit and warmth in the aroma, but also has some sweeter fruit as well. The sweeter fruit is developing, showing sweet prune with a hint of acetic tang. Then there is some mustiness, faint wood dust, like you just pull the bark off of a log, ever so slightly wet. This is really nice in the mouth, medium heavy bodied, syrupy sweet, building on layers of flavor. There is a long, tangy finish. 92+ points. (24 Jan 15)
