1985 Borges & Irmao Vintage Port

From day 2 of the 1985 horizontal, 24-25 Jan 2015, Holiday Inn Issaquah. All Ports were tasted blind. Unless otherwise noted, Ports were decanted for ~4 hours the morning of the tasting. The ones that I decanted received ~8 hours of decant overnight and were then stoppered for another ~6 hours until the tasting.
1985 Borges & Irmao Vintage Port
Color: Medium red with some tan overtones, but with a clean/clear rim. Doesn't appear to be bricking or age, there's just a tan note to the color.
Nose: Plum, some prune. Very nice. A bit of maple bar (both the icing and the donut).
Palate: Good tannins, great body. Rich and flavorful. Some brown sugar and Werther's caramel, but that shouldn't imply that it's going tawny because that doesn't seem to be the case.
Score: 91 points. An excellent bottle of Port and one that we weren't even aware (prior to the tasting) was produced in 1985.
