1985 Morgan Vintage Port

From day 2 of the 1985 horizontal, 24-25 Jan 2015, Holiday Inn Issaquah. All Ports were tasted blind. Unless otherwise noted, Ports were decanted for ~4 hours the morning of the tasting. The ones that I decanted received ~8 hours of decant overnight and were then stoppered for another ~6 hours until the tasting.
1985 Morgan Vintage Port
Color: Medium tawny. Yes, tawny, not red.
Nose: Candle smoke masks most everything else, though it seems like there's some fruit and spirit present.
Palate: Nice, tart fruits. Slightly floral. Mild tannins, but they're still present. Very nice. Surprising given the nose.
Score: 87 points. Had the nose been better this might have reached "excellent" for me... maybe 2-3 more points. The palate far out-reached the nose.
