I've had this before two years ago and right after opening it it closed up super tight and was impossible to properly evaluate, not the case anymore. This started out tight and almost simple, then a huge transformation took place about 2 hours into decanting. A profound palate of dusty dark cherries, smoke, barnyard, and forest. While on the long finish the tannins really come out and so does the acidity. This used to show more tart fruit, which is no longer the case at all. The longer this sits in the decanter/glass the better it gets, a classic Douro wine. 92 points at the moment, but as the decanter isn't quite empty yet that score may creep up.
