1978 Kopke Colheita

One of the bottles I purchased from the last Kopke buying opportunity.
1978 Kopke Colheita
bottled 2007
Color: Medium orange tawny, clear with some sediment,
Nose: Nutty, some vanilla, some light citrus, some dark dust. Mandarin orange or tangerine.
Palate: Smooth entry, huge acidity, some tangy apricot. Some brown sugar.
Finish: Rough and gritty, fairly high heat (but not what I'd call hot), great length.
Score: 90 pts. This is something that I'm happy to drink, but I certainly don't need to buy any more. Its acidity level is too high for my taste without more sugar to keep it in balance.
