1983 Warre's Vintage Port

Opened on 11-18 , tasted then and 24 hours later .
A little hot on opening, plenty of perfumy fruit, a little rosemary and juniper berries.
On the palate, a little less fruit on the front but increased on the back and finish.
24 hours later , still a lot of alcohol on the nose but very nice fruity fragrance with notes of freshly greated nutmeg .
Full mouth feel. Very nice on the front and back palate. A very pleasant finish much like the lingering tastes of an After 5 chocolate dinner mint.
RP gave this a 90 and a ? on maturity.
I give it an 88 and say drink up, no ? , only a !
This was a special bottle in that it had an inventory tag from my first wine unit , a Vinotemp 700. That means it has been moved from unit one circa 1991 -1994. Moved to unit two ( a walk-in Vinotemp 2000) in 1995 and now to our newest custom "cellar" in our most recent home in 2003. It still had a $32 price tag on it.
I have 1 or 2 bottles left but despite the nostalgia of the 3 "cellars" and its being from 1983, our anniversary collection, the remaining bottles will not be there for long.
