My wife and I are Crasto Reserva-enthusiasts, and we have been drinking all vintages of this wine as from 2004. We have decided that we will not keep them much longer than 10 years as we find that most of them are best when they are 6 - 10 years. Here comes tasting note for the 2nd from last of the 2007 Crasto Reserva.
Decanted 3 hrs. Dark red colour with a tiny touch of brown. Subdued aroma of berries, oak and hints of smoked meat. This vintage of this wine, which we know well, has in our opinion changed character a bit. Nice, but different. Age is showing. Full body. Powerful taste, which is to some degree elegant. Strong tannins, a bit drier than before. The wine has become slimmer (less fruit) and acidity has increased compared the previous bottles. Long aftertaste. 91 pts.
