TN: 2008 Quinta do Vallado Reserva Field Blend Douro

Decanted 3 hours prior to drinking, consumed over the next 4 hours. I've had this wine on release and a couple of times over the years since. Over time it has gradually lost that complexity it had when young. That said, there is still nice tar and graphite on the palate along with some dark fruit. As this has aged it has become much more one-dimensional and the finish has developed a big hollow spot, which really affects it's overall rating. Still enjoyable but I would drink sooner rather than later. I don't see this getting better with further aging. 88 Points (88 pts.)
