Tasted blind, eighth in a lineup of very old wines. This is more herbal than anything else tasted. It has lots, lots of acid. And tannins too! There is so much juicy goodness. I loved this one.

I didn't score this at the time. I believe I ranked it second in the lineup after a 1968 Marqués de Murrieta Castillo Ygay Logroño Gran Reserva. So this was probably in the 92-94 range. I purchased this bottle at the winery earlier in the year.

I have only had that one twice, at the property and one I bought and brought home for two years and opened in Portugal for a small group of friends trying to fool one another in a blind tasting. Wonderful both times. I hope to have it again, but I know that the winery is running low due to the purchase of a palate by an individual I am not allowed to name.

Egads! They told me the number of bottles when I was there, July 2018. I thought it was more than a thousand, but don't quote me on that.
