Previously my highest score given for any type of red wines has been 97 pts. This bottle got 98 pts.
Last bottle of six purchased back in 2009. Consumed on our 40th wedding anniversary 11th August 2019. Decanted 6 hrs. Deep dark red colour with a light rim. Aroma of dark red berries/oak/minerals in super harmony. The minerals/terroir are coming through in a nicely and stronger way than previous bottles of the same vintage. Full body. Wow! The power and the elegance are so well knitted together in a wonderful way. Fantastic tannins. Complex taste with herbs and minerals. Acidity/sweetness-balance was perfect as the dryness is well-balanced with everything else. The structure was marvelous. Long, lovely aftertaste. 98 pts.
