Really good podcast with a lot of information about the future of Port, the Douro and even how the Baixo could become the favored place to make Douro wines.

He is not the first to talk about the future excellence of the Baixo Corgo when down the road Climate Change has a greater effect on the Douro and heats up the Cima Corgo and Douro Superior to less even phenolic ripening in the next decade and thereafter.

That said, it is always worth listening to Dirk's Douro and Port pontifications.

1- port should be more "snobbish "

Does Dirk mean port should not be intended for the masses :stir:

I think he means that mass produced supermarket quality Port should be eliminated.

So I guess he isn't a fan of ports being sold at Costco south of the border [cheers.gif]
