2003 Alves de Sousa “Reserva Pessoal” (I believe it translates to Personal Reserve) ~ DOC, Douro Red – From Domingo Aves de Sousa and the Quinta da Gaivosa Santa Marta de Penaguiao comes this well-made Douro wine. Evocative aromatic personality of smoky underbrush, dark red berries, cedar and tobacco leaf. Medium-bodied and chewy with cranberry and rhubarb dry fruit flavors. The Personal Reserve spent a total of two hours in the decanter before we finished it with dinner. The structure is for mid-term drinking and the tannins are moderate in power but subdued by the fruit at this point. The finish is dry with a touch of cocoa and good length. Drink now or through 2014. 89 points (12/30/07)

Roy, sounds like something we would all enjoy! Must see Annabelle at DeVines, maybe she can get some.

I need to check my TN but I believed I've tasted this wine in the white version and I was totally amazed by this interesting wine. Amazed not in a high rating way but in a very individual, unique wine.
