2000 Kopke Vintage Port

Slightly closed nose. Some earthiness on the nose - perhaps some slight vegitative notes? Massive fruit on the approach - black cherry and plum, giving way to some hints of fennel. Medium-long finish with fruit and tannins balanced throughout. The earthiness returns on the tail end of the finish. 88 points. 1/5/08
My son added his own notes on the nose (not taste since he's only 10!)...
Young, saw-dusty and mustard seed. Earthly, with a bit of cedar. If I was to match a color with this wine, I'd say drab green would be the one. A damp, musty smell. A darker wine on the nose [than the previous wines I smelled], with a lot of vegetation and an olive tree smell. 85-87 points.
