Slightly closed nose. Some dark fruit - black cherry on the nose. Medium long finish. Good balanced tannins. Still some bright fruit on the palate, which is surprising to me for a 1980 VP. Good deal of sweetness and a luscious mouthfeel. Good complexity. Some hints of chocolate and a little cigar box. 94 points. 1/5/08

My son added his own notes on the nose (not taste since he's only 10!)...

Light, with strawberry. Crisp, with blueberry hint. Closed on the nose, and the smells blend. Strong berry hints. Young and rich. A slight alcohol smell, but good crispness. 89-92 points.

I think your son is going to be the next Hersh if he keeps on with notes like that :D

I remember when the 80 Graham's was the vintage of the century and then 83 and 85 came out. I have just one bottle of Ferreria from 1980. Kind of wish I had some more Graham's 1980.
