Color: Ruby, Rim: Reddish-Brown, Meniscus: Thin, Weight (Viscosity): Medium, Nose: Boysenberry, Candied Blueberries, Intoxicating, Slight Charred Wood, Cigar Ash, Sous bois, Taste: Blueberries, Slight Charred Wood, Concord Grapes, Pepper, Prunes, Acidity: Little, Mid-palate, Late, Tannins: Medium, Mid-palate, Late, Sweetness Level: Dry, Early, Mid-palate, Late, Finish: Long, Smooth, Other Comments: 5 hour decant, Filtered, T-cork that broke off.
Although this is a Filtered LBV there was still a lot of fruit and good tannins showing in this Dow. This was a very nice LBV that easily could have been mistaken for a good SQVP. The ruby red color eventually morphed into a reddish-brown hue after about 6 hours. It was a very easy to drink, smooth, well integrated, likable Port that still has at least another 10 years of life left. I really enjoyed this LBV and I would give it 93 points.
