These were also tried. Most were only 2 weeks old and very primary, as you could guess. But they were fun to try after Allistar set these baby food looking jars in front of us. I hope I got all the names right, as they were hand written on the jars. My notes were taken just as a curiosity, so here they are (with no scores for obvious reasons)....
2006 Sao Xisto Vinha Velha (Old Vines):
Vary dark, huge plums, very primary but good tannins and acidity. very interesting and very good.
2006 Sao Xisto Vinha Nova:
Dark Ink. Really tannic and what a fruit bomb. Tons of alcohol present. A big wine here.
2006 Vinha Velha Rem Detisito:
Much smoother than the previous two and not as good.
2006 Patamares Tunel Touriga Nacional:
This is really good, i like this one. A nice warm finish with godo structure and fruit.
2006 Patamares Tunel:
Grape juice with a kick sums this one up, LOL. Very interesting, but good in its own way.
These were very educational and something very very few outsiders ever get to try. I can't thank Allistar enough for allowing us to try these.
