2004 Niepoort Douro Redoma Branco Reserva - Portugal, Douro (10/25/2005)
Tasted with Dirk van der Niepoort at their restaurant Degusto in Oporto - This was like a cross between a great Burgundy and a great California Chardonnay. Lots of fruit, but also packed with minerals. Great stuff. I was shocked that the Douro could make whites like this, full of fruit and strong acid backbones. Wonderful stuff. (92 pts.)

I adore these white wines from Niepoort. Power but also so much minerality. And this for a very affordable price.
