Check it out, Zachy's at Daniel in NY in April. Some crazy old port, and some madeira too. You can browse online at zachys.com
Don't miss out! Incidentally, if anybody should be interested in one of the multiple bottle madeira lots, I may really be game for splitting/sharing.

Some historic Port and German wines also. Lots of BA and TBA's. Rare Sherry, Massandra and Tokaji Essence as well!

This is a real high end auction. Where's all the 1980's stuff? Wonderful selection for the well healed bidders!

Wow... 1792... Isn't that the Napolean vintage?

"Wow" is definitely the right word for that auction... some very impressive bottles there!
Sadly, nothing in my price range.

Plus I'm the type that believes Port is made to be consumed, not collected, so I'd want to crack one open and drink it!

No reason why Ports & Madeiras that are bought for collecting, can't be consumed too. I have less than a half dozen bottles in my cellar that I would not crack open this weekend with a good friend or with my wife. Wine is for drinking and sharing, not collecting dust on your shelves. You can't take 'em with you!
