For The Love Of Port

We'd like to plan a mega 1970 Horizontal in Boston for this fall. We have many 1970's now, so if you would like to attend, you can either bring something that is missing or "sponsor" a bottle we already have. So far the line up is:

Fonseca
Ramos Pinto
Grahams
Sandeman
Croft
Warre
Kopke
Ferreira
Cockburn
Dow
Noval (not 100% sure we have)
Noval Nacional (not 100% sure we have)
Offley (have sourced but not on hand yet)

As you can see there's several bottles of port... More than 2-3 could finish in one evening. We like to keep it at 1-1.5 bottles a person so everyone has enough port to drink.

Let me know if you can attend. If you have one of the bottles mentioned, we could use your bottle rather than sponsoring a bottle already mentioned...

I would like to try to attend, but it will depend on exactly when it is. I already have a couple of things going on this fall that might conflict.

I have both a 1970 Ferreira and a 1970 Martinez that I could contribute.

The date is totally up in the air. Our port brethren from Monteal expressed some interest as well. This is still at the "idea stage" as we have most of the ports on hand, and everyone has some kind of '70 that we would like to share.

What dates work best for you?

I'd totally be down for this depending on the dates. The middle to later part of August are good for me, as Sept and Oct will be too busy with the harvest trip and UK stuff going on.

I've got a number of 1970's (including a Noval). So i can either fill in gaps and/or sponsor some bottles.

For me it would be from Mid October the best, but again I'll be able only to confirm in the last week of September. I would not want to commit today and cancel just before the event.

I'm already booked Sept 12-14 and Sept 19-28. Something in late August would theoretically work, or early October. I don't have anything actually planned yet for the last part of October, but I can already guess that there's going to be another work trip to Dublin around then.

Early November should work for me. I have travel plans for Thanksgiving, though, and it'd be nice to have at least one non-travel week before that.

Well, it sounds like early November could be it. More to follow soon, but keep the first week or two open if you are interested.
