1990 Burmester Colheita Port

Bottled in 2007

The color is a little adanced for its age with a light golden brown that fades to a just noticable yellowish rim. The nose offers lots of butterscotch, oranges, and toffee. Taking a sip brings forth oranges, spices, mahagony, white pepper, and some leather. All that leads into a lovely and long finish, which caps off a well made Colheita. 92 points.

Andy,
I just picked up a bottle of this today, will likely sample it this weekend.
It's my first Colheita, as I'd never heard the term before discovering FTLOP..

Can't wait,

Jim

Andy,
This was a great find. I'm going to go back, perhaps today, and see if they replenished their stock, since I bought the only bottle on the shelf.

Nice note Andy!

Jim,

We'd really enjoy your impressions of this wine too. Please put it into its own thread here as it will make for an interesting comparison to Andy's note. I hope you will be able to find other bottles and you should ask your retailer if they'd be willing to buy in more for you and let them know exactly how many you'd be willing to buy. That normally will provide the impetus for them to restock a bottling that they might have shelved as a "one off."

Jim,
Glad you liked it. This is a house that excels with its wood-aged Ports. Worth the plunge when you find them.
