What could go better with vintage port than vintage cigars? How about the best cigars currently available in CONUS?

A few boxes just came available of pre-Embargo Habanos cigars. Cigars are in perfect condition, stored in a collector's locker until recently. All the cigars are smoking fine.

Dunhill Seleccion Suprema B No. 2 - 50 - $8,000.00 | 2 Boxes Available

This is a very rare combination of 50 cigars in a dress box labeled as Dunhill, not as a "Dunhill Exclusive" branded box. This may be one of the oldest Dunhill branded boxes known to exist. The Cuban seal is also the rarest indicating a time after Castro and before the Embargo. All cigars are in perfect shape. Some experts say these could be the first of Montecristo No. 2 based on the exterior of the box design.

Punch - Churchill Deluxe - 25 - $3,800.00 | 1 Box Available

In truly amazing condition for a dress box. These Punch Churchills still have some power to them, yet have the elegence that only a 50+ year old can have. Very impressive.

Por Larranaga - Dunhill Seleccion Suprema No. 90 - 25 - $4,200.00 | 1 Box Available

Awesome Candela wrapper PL's that are a joy to smoke. What else can one say?

H. Upmann - No. 25 Dunhill Double-Claro - 50 - $6,000.00 | 2 Boxes Available

Don't let the "Double-Claro" label fool you. These Upmann's pack a punch! A fine petite corona size cigar that amazes still, and a worthy Upmann by any collector's standards. Really nice.

Please PM me for purchase. Not often do pre-embargos like these come to market in the USA without auction fees or trans-atlantic shipping.

I know that I am breaking precedent by allowing this post. I do want to be clear, that prior to this being posted, I was contacted for permission. As cigars are something that MANY Port lovers enjoy ... I thought I would allow this "infomercial" to appear. Had I not been consulted in advance, this would be a non-sequitur.

Roy we need to add the "Cigar and Pipe" section to the forum as there is a much better group of people here than most of the cigar boards!

I am open minded to expand this section for cigars too. (not pipes though)

Anybody object :?:

I don't smoke so I don't care one way or the other, but this made me curious. Why not pipes?

Maybe a general "tobacco connoisseurs" section?

At this point, the number of areas (intentionally kept to 10 or less since inception) will most likely NOT expand. We've already gone through that stage of evolution and many people were heard from on that topic, way back when. :D

To answer Glenn's question though. I can justify cigars as I know lots of people who love them with Port. However, I know nobody personally, that is seriously into pipe smoking and drinking Port. It is simple as that.

As for having a tobacco connoisseurs area ... I don't inhale, nor do I support tobacco ... unless it is rolled into a cigar. Pipes and cigarettes ... well, I don't get it. There are plenty of places on the web for smokers to go and discuss their hobbies. Cigars ... well that I can at least begin to understand. For anything to wind up in the Forum (except "other discussions") it must pertain to Port/Madeira or DOC Douro wines. It is that simple.

I smoke a pipe, however don't usually with drink. It's more a contemplative activity all on it's own.

As did my grandfather and the sweet smell of cherry and cedar are aromas from my early childhood that I always associate with my grandfather pulling out his pouch and tamping down his favorite tobacco in a simple wooden pipe. I am not against pipes. Au contraire.

However, that is different than expanding an area to support that enjoyable pasttime, as there is just no relevance to this site. As mentioned, that is what "other discussions are for ... have at it. Eric, I know you realize this is not aimed at you whatsoever. :salute:
