Received on Sat., If anyone is seriously interested in this bottling, please email me directly:
Cockburn's Vintage Port 1912. Regarded by their own cellarmaster as their greatest ever vintage. Corks are FULLY BRANDED "Cockburn 1912", wax seals are stamped with the name of one of their biggest English shippers. From an impeccably maintained old English cellar. One of the very greatest ports I have ever drunk, absolutely magnificent, I can personally guarantee the quality of these bottles. The port is a deep rose in colour, fully mature of course but no signs at all of decay or drying out, medium sweet, wonderful and complex in the mouth, absolutely delicious, with a very, very long and lingering aftertaste. These are really wonderfully well preserved examples of this legendary port. These bottles are in much better condition than the ones Broadbent seems to have tasted for his "Great Vintage Wine" book. I'm not normally someone who raves about the taste of vintage port, but the quality of this particular port is, in my opinion, really exceptional. When I was first offered them I bought just one bottle to open and taste, as soon as I had done so, I immediately went back and bought the rest of the case! Price is GBP £540 per bottle. 4 bottles of the original 12 still available, subject unsold.
