1996 Kopke LBV Port

Bottled in 2002, and from a .375ml bottle.

I poured a glass and was a bit taken by how light in color it was. I did a double take on the bottle to make sure I opened the right bottle; vary pale ruby for such a young LBV. A simple light weight palate that has fully resolved tannins and some simple fruits. This was an easy drinking LBV and while it didn't "wow" me, I found it to be pleasurable none the less. 85 points

I concur. I was surprised by the color as well and found it had a slight hint of tawny. I didn't take notes on the first bottle I opened as I shared it with friends after a casual dinner, and I have more at home for further consideration.

Yes it did ever so lightly remind me of a tawny in the sense that the fruit was very light an fading. I'd say these 1/2 bottles are a tad past their optimal drinking window, but still an easy sipper when I don't feel like opening something expensive or old. Guess this falls into that camp of; If you got it at a good price then it's the perfect daily QPR Port.
