Interested in bartering NY Yankees premium seats for Port!

Reading an article in a local newspaper yesterday on the emergence of bartering as a strong force in today's economy, I wanted to suggest the following. Several months ago I purchased a number of luxury seats for premium ballgames at Yankee Stadium. These seats are in the "Legends Section" which includes waiter service at your seat (located very close to the playing field) plus complementary food in the lovely Legends Club at the new Yankee Stadium, which is of true restaurant quality. For example, on June 30, Chef Morimoto will be a guest chef in the Legends Club and preparing special dishes for Legends ticket holders.

I was wondering if anyone living in the NY area or planning to visit might consider bartering port for some of my premium Yankees tickets. I paid $540 for each ticket, and have several dates available, including very popular games between the NY Yankees and NY Mets, NY Yankees and Boston Red Sox, and tickets for the evening of June 30 as well, when Chef Morimoto will be cooking in the Legends Club restaurant.

If this proposal intrigues you, I would be most grateful for a reply.

I am especially interested in bottles of Noval Nacional but am open to other proposals as well.

Cheers! :winebath:

As a lifelong Yankee fan this is very intriguing. I have yet to step foot in the new Yankee Stadium and covet the day that will happen. I have sat in similar type seats at Safeco Field where the Mariner's play on a few occasions ... as I live near Seattle and I know how great they can be.

However, I can not wrap my head around trading two bottles of any Quinta do Noval Nacional for a pair of tickets to any sporting event. I am not discouraging others from doing so, and I wish this were easier and you had regular seats that were only $100 or so, but for two bottles of Nacional ... I'd expect autographs from the entire Yankees team too.

I understand your sentiment completely (sports fans may have similar sentiments about paying so much for a single bottle of port wine!!).

Only those of us who are extreme Yankees fans as well as Port lovers could appreciate the philosophical difficulty of deciding which one is more valuable - the premium Yankee ticket or the bottle of Noval Nacional.

Since you mention autographs Roy, it turns out that when you have these Legends seats you're permitted to go down to the first row of the stadium during batting practice prior to the game. Inevitably one or two of the players do come to sign balls! And in the Legends restaurant they will occasionally have former players signing autographs - Bucky Dent was there one time (he's probably way before your time!).
