10 Year Old Tawny Port by Rocha

Bottled in 2006
Since the heat is being turned up here in Los Angeles nothing better than a chilled tawny Port to end the evening with after day-2 of tasting 2007 VP's. I opened this the other day and just never got around to a tasting note till now. After writing a bunch of TN's already this evening, this one is short and to the point.
Spices and cloves dominate the nose up front then molasses slithers it's way in. Fairly viscous on the palate with dates, nutmeg, carmelized pecans. There is still some traces of red fruit underneath that convey it's youth. The only thing it lacks is a little acidity, as the palate is a bit to thick and cloying. Never less, it's still a nice 10 year tawny Port. 89 Points.
