Suggested Retail Pricing on four 2007 SFE Ports

I received some material today which included some great information and pricing on four of the Symington Family Estate's Vintage Ports.

Here is the SRP for the USA:

Graham's: $90
Dow's: $76
Quinta do Vesuvio: $74
Smith Woodhouse: $56

Without reading much into this, it is clear the "positioning" of the different shippers in their portfolio. I wonder how much the points by various writers have affected the strategic plan of coming up with the SRP for these? Possibly not at all. :scholar:

Inversely proportional to my taste. Here's to not going with the crowd! (At least for past vintages. I can't really say for the 2007s as I haven't had any of them yet.)

Very interesting!

The Smith Woodhouse is the only one I've tried (as a cask sample), and it's a very solid Port. I can't judge the QPR of the others, but at $56 I think you'd be happy with the Smith Woodhouse.

I'd take the SW and not think twice on the others at those prices. Cheaper to buy 1985 Grahams than 2007...
