TN: 2003 Altano Reserva Douro

Found this yesterday at a store near me. I don't recall ever having it and it was only $20, so I grabbed one as I was on my way to a BBQ with friends. I decanted this about one hour before we started drinking it. Still lots of solid black fruit with plenty of drying tannins. At 6 years old this is still a very young wine that should hold up well for another 5-8 years of cellaring. I plan to go back and grab a few, to drink now and to put a couple away to see how they evolve. This is a big step up from the regular Altano.

Glad to see this note, makes me feel a little better about spending $28 for the 2006 vintage. Will post TN over the weekend.

Mike.

I look forward to reading your thoughts on the 2006.
