NV Porto Rocha Branco Lagrima Port
Posted: Sun Nov 08, 2009 3:12 pm
Tasted at Port & Fran's Chocolates tasting at Fine Wines & Cigars in Redmond Town Center.
Porto Rocha Branco Lagrima
served chilled in ice water.
Light amber in color, similar to an old/aged Sauternes or Barsac. Not much nose beyond a light fruitiness, possibly due to being chilled. Initial impression in the mouth is very sweet, which then moves through peach, mango, pear, and honey as you swallow and enjoy the finish. Feels a bit thin in the mouth and despite the many flavors doesn't seem very rich, also possibly due to being chilled. 83 pts.
This Port was paired with Fran's Dark Chocolate Ginger which worked very well. The ginger in the chocolate had some heat to it, which was very nicely balanced by the cool & sweet of the Port.
