40 Year Old Tawny Port by Sandeman

Tasted with numerous other Ports as discussed here. Other events that day conspired to prevent me from taking complete notes, but Glenn's question in another post and Roy's article on tawny in this month's :ftlop: newsletter motivated me to post my limited impressions. Pop and poured into glasses about 30 minutes prior to tasting.

Amber with a slight red tint, very clear, and deep in color. Lots of old wood and earthy flavor along with some citrus-orange. This was drinking wonderfully and as I recall had a good finish. Of the tawnies served, it was might favorite and the favorite of many at the tasting. 94-95 points.

Eric,

Thanks for the note. I try not to steer you wrong. How close were we on our (forget scores) basic impressions on taste etc.?
